Ocean Blue Quota Company was established in 2005 as a method of communication allowing the fishing industry to buy or sell fish quota and fishing licences without the stress and anxiety usually associated with this type of transaction. Whilst operating UK fishing vessels Ocean Blue Quota Company also manages the quota needs of other vessels allowing fishermen to concentrate on their principal activities.

With the countries current political climate there is a great deal of uncertainty within the fishing industry with no way of predicting what lies ahead. At present the UK Government operates a restrictive licensing scheme whereby no new licences are issued for vessels and stricter rules in regards to entitlements and aggregations apply.

The company offices are situated in close proximity to Peterhead Harbour; UK’s largest fishing port with fish landings that exceeded £200 million in 2018.
